Stevens Creek Shutter Company is the result of a long family tradition of excellence in Window Coverings. The founder of Steven’s Creek Shutter Company William Pearl is the third generation of the Pearl family to work in the trade. William learned the art of drapery from his father and grandfather. William’s father Bob Pearl worked at the well known Artistic Drapery in Hamilton for decades. William also got his start at Artistic as a teenager building custom drapery tracks. Eventually William was allowed out of the basement and began assisting in installations and consultations.
While we look to the future here at Stevens Creek Shutter Company we also appreciate the past. Our company namesake Stevens Creek originates in the Marlborough Forest watershed. Flowing through the village of North Gower and emptying into the Rideau River at the village of Kars. The creek is named after the original colonist of the township Roger Stevens, and was a significant factor in the development of the area. Our office is located on property backing onto Steven’s Creek, and also shares a long history in the village. Our home base was built in the mid-1850’s shortly after the name Steven’s Creek began appearing on township records. Over the years it has housed craftspeople from different trades. Listed on historical documents are Blacksmiths, Weavers, and merchants. We are proud to carry on the tradition of creating quality products for the homes of our community.
